La Pastaria: Delicious Italian Cuisine in Summit, NJ

La Pasteria is a nice, traditional Italian restaurant in downtown Summit, NJ. Their food and service are what I remember most and these will bring me back for another very enjoyable meal. Be sure to use the parking in the back. The decor is pedestrian. The tables and chairs are a little better than average. They have a regular menu and a daily menu which is just as large, adding depth to the offerings. The staff is attentive as you want them to be yet they will give you space and let you go at your own pace. The meals were well prepared and plated. They have the usual Italian dishes and several more that are worth a try. Live a little. La Pastaria has an unremarkable physical ambiance, but the food and the service raise the overall experience up to five stars.

We enjoyed our lunch at the Summit location. When we lived in Red Bank it was our favorite restaurant. Now we live near Summit so it’s our new favorite restaurant.

First time, stopped in on a friday night—-the place was bustling and full of life. We were greeted by one of the owners with a smile and shown a table in a nice corner away from the hubbub. Every server was extremely friendly and polite, a level of service I haven’t experienced in a while. We definitely over ordered but it gave us an opportunity to taste a nice spread of items from the antipasti and the specials——the escarole and white bean soup was the best ive ever had and the pork milanese was bigger than my head. Price point was great too. 10/10 would eat there again

The wait staff is very friendly, it’s a very nice family styled place with yummy Italian food. I personally like the rigatoni vodka pasta with shrimp

A perfect, old school, Italian restaurant. The veal parm was thin, crispy and delicious. Ask to sit in Alfred’s section. He is friendly and very attentive

If you love Italian food, you can't miss this place!! While the food is great, the service is exceptional. Hotsi Totsi shrimp is a must! Oven eggplant and roasted pepper mozzarella was really good. The most delicious salmon ever!

I recently used La Pastaria to cater a small party. It was a huge success. The food was delicious and the servers far exceeded my expectations. Dining in is also a treat with my favorite pasta, Cappellini Angelo, love the Joe's chopped salad and the Shrimp Arrabiata. The atmosphere is welcoming and the servers are 5 star.

La Pasteria is a restaurant my family and I frequent often, and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly, professional, and genuinely happy to see you every time we visit — they’re incredibly accommodating and make you feel right at home. Just when I think I’ve found my favorite dish, the daily specials surprise me and quickly become my new favorite! Overall, a solid 5/5 experience every time. Highly recommend!
